Thank you, Steve.

Looking for anyone who might have known or have a picture of my father, Charles R Johnson from Chicago based at Camp Forrest summer of 1941.  He was about 26 at the time, I believe.  Thank you.

I just found your site and hope it will be helpful to me.  For years I have been looking for my birth father whom I was told was based at Camp Forrest.  He was drafted in June 1941 according to my information.  I was told his name was Charles Robert Johnson.  Is there any way I can find out if anyone new someone by that name.  I was told he was about 5'7", 145 lbs., with dark hair and blue yes.  His parents were deceased and he had no siblings.  Before the military, he was employed as a taxi driver, messenger and doing odd jobs.  Does this ring a bell with anyone?  Thank you for your help.

I have found your website through various sources and found it quite interesting.  However, I cannot figure out how to post to it.  I am looking for anyone who knew Charles Robert Johnson from Chicago, age about 26 at the time, who entered service in June 1941 and was supposedly based at Camp Forrest.  It would be especially wonderful if anyone had a photo of him.  He apparently was my birth father and I have spent over 30 yrs. looking.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Steve, for doing such a wonderful job on the Camp Forrest web site.  I do have one question since you know so much about Camp Forrest.  Do you know which units went from Camp Forrest to Ft. Riley after the summer of '41, or at least which web site I could find that info.  I know that my Charles "Bob" Johnson was at Ft. Riley in Sept. 1941 as that's where he and his wife got married.
